Step by step Guide for DigiLocker account opening

Guide 1: Creating a DigiLocker Account Using the Mobile App

Before You Begin

You will need:

• Aadhaar Card (recommended)

• Mobile number (preferably linked with Aadhaar)

• Email ID (optional)

• Smartphone with internet connection

Step 1: Install the DigiLocker App

• Open Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iPhone).

• Search for DigiLocker.

• Install the official DigiLocker app.

Step 2: Open the App

• Tap the DigiLocker icon.

• Tap Get Started or Sign Up.

Step 3: Enter Your Details

• Click on Try using Aadhaar or VID (easier step)

• Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar no and click on continue

Step 4: Verify with OTP

• An OTP will send to your mobile linked to your Aadhaar

• Enter the OTP

• Tap Verify.

Step 5: Set your security pin

• Set a 6 digit securit pin and tap the complete button

Guide 2: Creating a DigiLocker Account Using the Website

Before You Begin

You will need:

• Computer or laptop

• Internet connection

• Aadhaar Card

• Mobile Number

• Email ID (optional)

Step 1: Open the Official Website

Open your browser and visit:

https://www.digilocker.gov.in

Click on Login/Register button

Step 2: Follow the same Steps from Step 4 to 5 in Guide 1 above.

Note: Currently, we are uploading APAAR IDs and PEN numbers for students in Classes IX to XII. The remaining classes will be uploaded very soon.
